Two events have been scheduled to celebrate the arrival in Melbourne of our ancestor William Baker Tyzack and his family to Australia. A Cocktail Party is an evening event and a BBQ is a daytime event. I thought that holding anniversary events in two different time slots on two different days would make it easy for family members to attend at least one event.
My sister June Tyzack will act as the MC so that everyone knows what is going on when and where. Both adults and children alike should feel comfortable attending this informal BBQ.
We are part of approximately 130 living descendants and, while unfortunately all will not be able to attend these anniversary celebrations, those who can attend should expect to meet many new people. Despite the fact I have looked at everyone’s photos while compiling the book William Baker Tyzack and descendants in Australia and therefore I have a reasonable idea of who is who, I will be looking to see if anyone looks like me and other family members that I know. I suspect we will not look like peas from the same pod. These celebrations present a very interesting opportunity.
Practicalities: a cash bar will operate so that you can buy the drinks of choice. Free tea and coffee will be available. There will be seating indoors and outdoors. Please dress casually.
Pre-booking and payment is required for both this BBQ and the Cocktail Party. If you have not received information about how to do this, then email me on firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline for payment for each event is one month away on the 24th September 2016.
